2019 Essex Landscapes calendar
For our 2019 Essex Landscapes Calendar we have again focused on images of landscapes in Essex to form a month by month pictorial journey through the year. For the most part the images are of “different” places in Essex.

March – A field opposite St Mary’s Church, Hawkwell with Rochford in the distance 
April – Lonely boat Thorpe Bay 
May – The bridge at Papermill Lock 
June – Peaceful waters and reflections of the house at Hyde Hall – June (Mike) 
July – Peacock Butterfly on a Buddleia 
August – Making tracks to All Saints Church, Rettendon – August (Mike) 
September – Sunset from Paglesham – September (Mike) 
October – The upper lake at Marks Hall, Essex 
November – A serviceman’s grave, St Andrews Minster, Ashingdon – Novermber (Mike) 
December – Compass Gardens in the snow, South Woodham Ferrers – December (Mike)
January to June
Everyone loves bluebells, so the front of the calendar shows bluebells in the woods at Hanningfield Reservoir. The image of the Old Rochford Reservoir makes you cold, just to look at it. That one fits for January, as does the wintery sun in the bleak South Woodham Ferrers image for February. March shows a bare field in Hawkwell at sunset, with the tree silhouetted.
The tide is out in the image of the Thames from Thorp bay which forms April’s page. In May we are at Papermill Lock. There are lovely reflections in the image of Hyde Hall, which is our June page.
July to December
July’s image is a peacock butterfly on a rich pink Buddleia. August finds us following the leading lines from the signpost to the church at All Saint’s Rettendon. A sunset at Paglesham is the image for September.
Rich autumn colours are evident in October’s image captured at Marks Hall. The bushes also reflect in the water of the upper lake. November’s image is a serviceman’s grave at St Andrew’s Minster in Ashingdon. White gold and black are the colours of December’s image. The anchor is one of several anchors in Compass Gardens in South Woodham Ferrers.
