Sunset at low tide comprises a collection of image capture on the river crouch at the Hullbridge Crossing. The setting sun was a strong orange globe and offered possibilities. The brown mud tempered by enthusiasm. High tide would have offered much more photogenic opportunities, nevertheless we were where we were!

The first image show the sun through the reed that lie along the side of the car park. The reeds were gently moving in the breeze and the sun is seen through the patterns of the clouds. The second image show the opportunity and the problem. There is water, and the sun can reflect in it if you get the right position. And the incoming water was helping. Even so the water would not arrive until the sun had gone down. Nonetheless reflections in the mud were possible.

The third image is a panoramic version of image two, emphasising length of the inlet. Following image three the position of the camera has moved to capture the globe reflected in the water. This shows the challenge of capturing images of a sunset at low tide. An additional movement towards the centre of the river whilst still remaining of the concrete launching ramp would offer a good opportunity for a reflection. On the other hand the harbour authority have left a post in the way! Clearly they don’t think of photographers!

Looking upwards the sun is captured with the patterns of clouds across it. Last but not least, there is a photograph of a photographer capturing the sunset, also with reflections in the water.
