Six of the best shows images of some of the flowers growing in our garden. Fortunately the lockdown has been accompanied by good weather. It has been possible to capture images of the flowers that are daily coming into bloom.

Three red roses growing at head height on the trellis. They form a nice pattern and have been cut into a square image to make the most of the natural positioning of the roses.

The round tub shows pelargoniums and petunias recently planted in their tub.

The white rose has grown out from below the graft of the red trailing rose. It’s growing amongst the red rose on the trellis and makes a nice contrast. I particularly like the clarity of the yellow stamen and the random fly in this image.

The salmon pink rose is on the same trellis as the other two roses, growing from a different end. Two years ago it seemed on its last legs, however some pruning, compost and TLC has brought it back this year. I love the colour.

The peony has performed well this year. It has produced more flowers that in previous years. The flowers are quite large, furthermore, they seem to be made of tissue paper.

The rock rose (cistus) was pruned earlier this year and the flowers seem to be a much deeper purple. The image shown has a red mason bee working on the flower. I hope you like six of the best!
