The waterfalls at Krkr in Croatia are wonderful. There are so many of them and some are wide and multifaceted. Pronounced “Kirker” it is near Sibinek and the waterfalls are part of a national park. Click this link to see more.
Context
Including the submerged part of the river at the mouth, the Krka River is 72.5 km long, making it the 22nd longest river in Croatia. It springs in the foothills of the Dinara mountain range, 2.5 km northeast of Knin. With its seven waterfalls and a total drop in altitude of 242 m, the Krka is a natural and karst phenomenon. The travertine waterfalls of the Krka River are the fundamental phenomenon of this river.

All of the images in the gallery of Krkr waterfalls are panoramic ones showing the wide multifaceted waterfalls from different angles and viewpoints.
We initially approached the waterfalls from a high vantage point. Using a Polaroid filter image 008 captures the first waterfall we encountered from the viewpoint above it. As well as the actual “fall” the water seems to meet rocks on the bed of the river which makes it cascade up and over in a dome shape at the foot of the falls. Settings are 1/4 sec, aperture f/5 and a 60 mm zoom.
Image 136 shows the water falling over seven steps from top to bottom and taking different paths as it tumbles down. Shot at 1/800 sec, with the aperture at f/5 and a slight zoom to 50 mm the shot picks out the droplets as they fall. A Polaroid filter is used on image 145. It gives a soft feel to the waterfalls. Here the settings are 3/10 sec with an aperture of f/4 a wider 24 mm. This captures the breadth of these waterfalls
Image 151 uses a different crop and is captured from a closer vantage point. It closes in on the waterfall itself. Again it uses a Polaroid filter for a softer feel to the falling water. The settings, 2/5 sec an aperture of f/4 and a 35 mm focal length.
Image 156 is captured more from the side of the main falls and focuses on the falling water.
