Over and above Maldon is a collection of images shot from the top of the Moot Hall in the town. The roof of the Moot Hall is open to the elements. From the roof you can see the Blackwater Estuary as far as Bradwell and the Promenade Park in the east. To the south you can pick up tower blocks on Southend seafront. From the other sides images of the town itself can be captured.

Images one and two show the view towards Southend. The tower blocks can be seen as well as the Cliffs Pavilion. One shot uses a 300mm lens and the second a 600mm lens. The next two images use the same lenses to show the statue of Byrhtnoth at the end of the Promenade. The long lens “reaches over” the rooves of the town.

Image five reaches over the Blackwater to the wind turbines on the distant hills. Image six shows the massive turbine halls at the now de-commissioned Bradwell Power Station.

The crenellations on the Moot Hall Tower are shown in image seven. Behind the tower is the tower of the Maeldune Centre which was formerly St Peter’s Church. The Blackwater Estuary is in the background.

Images eight and nine look straight down over the edge of the retaining wall. One image shows the prison yard. The final image shows the Moot Hall Clock, the balcony and the High Street. Truly over and above Maldon
