Panoramic Paris shows views of Paris captured from a high vantage point. The Tour Montparnasse is the vantage point for many of the images. This tall building is open to the public and has wonderful panoramic views of all points of the city. Check out its website.
From the top of the Tour Montparnasse the whole of Paris stretches before us. One image shows the tree lined boulevards that lead across the city and the Eiffel Tower. The Arc de Triomphe and La Defense are also visible on this image.
Another Panoramic Paris image shows “Les Invalides”, the building which houses the tomb of Napoleon. A separate image shows Pont Alexandre III, built in 1900 for the World Fair held that year. Russian Tsar Alexandre III gave his name to the bridge. A third image shows a central portion of the city with the Sacre Coeur in background.
Two Panoramic Paris images are at ground level. One just about manages to show the whole of the octagonal pool in the Jardin des Tuileries. The other is captured from near by. It shows le place de la Concorde with its obelisk and the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
Views from Le Sacre Coeur
It is also possible to get wonderful views from Le Sacre Coeur. This Basilica is set high above the city. You can climb 200 or more steps or use the funicular railway to reach it. One of the views show the city and then the Tour Montparnasse on the right of the image. The second Sacre Coeur image faces more to the left and is framed by the trees.
