Mike’s garden 2016
Mike’s garden is a perennial site of toil, a battle against slugs, snails and other pests. Despite the pests the garden is each year a thing of beauty during the summer months. Its nice to have the time to enjoy the taste, smell and sight of the things I have grown. Its also great to “play” with the camera and record some of the successes each year. Sunflowers are amongst my favourite annuals and purple is a favourite colour, hence the image of the purple rose and buddleia below. You will note that I have preference for sunflowers and I love the dense colours of the yellow Kerria Japonica flowers and the red poppy.
The raspberry leaf stands out amazingly against the cherry blossom and the cistus flower is so brittle. I chose the variety of Weigela because the flower colours remind me of raspberry ripple ice cream. I have cropped all of the images to a square format.
