The Walkie Talkie

Captured from the River Thames, this images features 20 Fenchurch Street, nicknamed the Walkie Talkie because of its distinctive shape, emerging from the older City of London buildings. It is almost as if the Walkie Talkie is of a completely different scale to the other buildings around it. It could be that the new building has been put in place by “Photoshop”, but sadly, it’s not the case. Although all of the other buildings in the image are not “old” they blend in together with the walls of the Tower of London (now we are talking “old”) in the left foreground. The steel and glass construct Walkie Talkie sets itself apart from the gentler feel of the older buildings. Simply put, have an example of the ever changing face of London, for better or worse.
