Pink poppy with busy bee 

Pink poppy with busy bee follows the scary red poppy posted this morning. These poppies are self-set and come up like weeds. The cup of the poppy is full of yellow nectar standing out against the black smudges on the petals. This one has a bright lemon yellow ridged centre on which the bee is resting one of its feet. Surrounding the centre are lots of which stamens, curled over and down. The bee has its classic yellow and black colouring and is dusty with pollen. It is typical that I had just set the camera to focus on one flower and bee and the bee flew off to another flower. Fortunately I waited and it came back. The luminescent colouring of the petals makes them look like tissue paper. These flowers rarely last more than one day, which is such a shame.
